Do I have BP????

Post by admin »

Hi,
I am a 40 yr old man in Salt Lake City, Utah USA
I was just diagnosed with Brachail Plexus last week. This diagnosis won't be confirmed until the Dr. sees my MRI results which I am having done this week. This thing came out of nowhere! I had been having a painful neck lately, I thought it was from sleeping on it the wrong way. Then, all of a sudden, one Sunday afternoon,
I started to have some sharp pain on the inside of my elbow, then I realized I couldn't lift my left arm above my head. Since then it has worsened and has affected my right arm and my neck and shoulders are always in pain. Do any of you agree with my Dr's diagnosis that this is Brachial Plexus? Any comments and advice would be very much appreciated

I have a question or 2.
Have you had a tetnus shot, or any vacinations just prior to this?
Have you had any infections recently, just prior to this?

Hi andyman!
You might want to look up information on Parsonage-Turner Syndrome at http://www.orpha.net/data/patho/GB/uk-Turner.pdf and show this to your doc. It is rare but kinda fits what you are feeling. I may have the same dang thing. Hope this helps. Mark

Hi Andyman,

sorry to hear you may have joined the club. Your symptoms are similar to mine, only bilateral. Here is a site you may want to check out. There is a rare disease called Parsonage-Turner Syndrome or acute brachial plexus neuritis. Read all about it at http://www.orpha.net/data/patho/GB/uk-Turner.pdf I hope this helps. Keep in touch, Mark
