My son had surgery with Dr Grossman in Miami. First of all Dr G is Internationally known and recognized among his peers as and excellent Brachial Plexus Injury Specialist. After a lot of research we decided to give our son the best opportunity to recover and we felt very confortable with Dr Grossman and staff. So far my son had only one surgery and he is doing excellent it has been 2 yrs. He has full extension and great external rotation.
For those who don't know who Dr Grossman is please go to his web site for more info

Good luck to you

Hello Tress

I have a son with a rbpi and he is now six years old. Dr. Grossman performed primary surgery on Jordan when he was 7 months. Please remember that every child is different. Jordan's injury consisted of C5, C6, C7 and I believe some of C8. He barely could move his fingers when he was an infant (just a little twitch).
I was very very happy with the surgery as Jordan can do so many things and has full use of his hand and fingers. He can bend at 90% and can touch his nose. I thank God that my husband and I took that leap of faith and had the surgery because as I looked at it Jordan had nothing so if he had surgery and gained something it was worth it. Our last visit to Dr. Grossman was last year (as we live in NY) and Dr. Grossman put a big smile on his face when he asked Jordan to do certain movements. He couldn't believe it since Jordan's injury was so severe.

Sorry to be long winded but I was in the same place as you six years ago. Never blame yourself, but turn that energy into positive energy for your child. Feel free to email me if you like.

We have been seeing Dr.Grossman for the past 2 years and are very pleased with both him and his staff. (ROBPI, 2year old daughter)Everyone is great. Even our malpractice attorney has commented to us that he is one of the best specialists out there and is thought of very highly.
