Very recent BPI

Post by nopaddle »

Hi,
It's 3am and I can't sleep because of what I've suspected is a bpi. I just found this board and it has put together a lot of my somptoms.

First, I had what I thought were hives, then had a long, super intense canoe race followed by sore throat, stiff neck, and sever front delt pain. Now the pain is throughout my right shoulder girdle down to my wrist on the right, and in my wrist mostly on the left.

Has anyone had a case such as this? Is there any likelyhood it could've been caused by encephalitis or septicemia?

Thank you so much for any info you can provide. I have a serious race in under a month (world championships) but can't paddle now. Still thinking positive...

I'd get myself to an internist and a neurologist ASAP so you can get to healing up fast for the championships.

I once got very intense carple tunnel in both wrists and hands from an intense 14 hour day of kayaking, and that was on the nineth day of a twelve day excursion. I had to tape my hands around the paddle for the last day, because I couldn't keep them closed to grip the paddle.

Carple tunnel is neurologically based, so it wouldn't hurt to see a neurologist if you've got health insurance. Vitamin B6 200mg 3x/day helped me deal with riding my motorcycle for the next three weeks cross country after that kayaking trip. A pharmacyst with carple tunnel recomended it to me on the road in Montana, it worked. Good luck.

Hope you heal up well before the championships!
