I think the choice that we as parents make for our children is the right one. It may not always feel like it, but they are. My son had nerve grafts a little over 2 months ago. He currently has NO use of his right arm. No movement and very little feeling. I often wonder if we will choose to do other surgeries or not. I believe that our lives are already written and our paths are not chosen, but followed. I want you to know that I think it is wonderful for the parents that don't get surgery and rely on pt, ot, faith and prayer. What more can you do? I wish everyone's children the best of recoveries.

big Jav's Mom- I'm so sorry that your child has not gotten stronger. It took me a lot of years to realize how different all of our kids' injuries were. I wish you and your son the best in everything - I truly mean that! My child has a moderate injury and has done way farther than they thought she could - I wish that for your son too!!!!!! Please know that things keep getting easier!! The older they get the more they talk to you - and you can help them because they are verbal! .... Obviously he has a Mom who loves him very much so he will be just fine!:) Go Jav! You'll be OK!:)

my amanda, now 22 months, was told that she would need surgery by 2 if her scapula didn't drop on it's own. i went for a 2nd opinion and that surgeon told me that in no way he would ever receommend that surgry on her at this point. if a surgery is recommended in the future, i will look into it and get a 2nd if not 3rd or 4th opinion. right now i'm being told nothing more can be done with her arm, but weight bearing exercises, like gymnastics. she has been in gymnastics for 3 months now.
