Anyone been treated by Dr.Grossman in Miami?

Post by Tress »

My daughter is four months old and will have all her MRI's and Nerve Conduction tests done in July. Then we will see Dr.Grossman for surgery options.
She can hold a 90 degree angle if on her back but not sitting up.I was told that did not count. Anyone with ANY advice would be greatly appreciated.Best of luck to all of you and your children.

My son had primary at Miami Childrens' in February of this year. His surgeon was Dr. Bhatia- who is an excellent doctor. I have heard great things about Dr. Grossman and can tell you the Miami Childrens' is an excellent hospital in a beautiful neighborhood. I believe that Dr. Grossman is a BPI speacialist, whereas Dr. Bhatia is a neurosurgeon. So, for follow up surgeries we will most likely go to Nath or Kozin. I know that there are a few others that post here that have gone to Grossman. Hopefully they will post to give you some insight. Good luck.

Sincerely, MArlyn

Kara,
I appreciate that info.I was under the same impression but I guess that is not a good thing after all.Piper defintaely can't do it sitting, she cant sit yet or bear weight on her tummy ro roll. After yur son had his surgery did he improve any? I want her to have every chance of course, but I also don't want to put her through surgery that will not help enough to be worth the pain she will endure.Thank you so much

My daughter was treated by Dr. Grossman. He performed her surgery (@ 7months of age) and she is now 4 yrs old and is doing extremely well. She was discharged from OT June 2004. I highly recommend Dr. G and his staff. Best of luck. email me if you have any further questions.

Hello Tress...I have never posted a reply or a message but when I saw your question I just had to reply. My daughter is 10 months and just had her grafting surgery done with Dr. Grossman in Miami on May 4th. He is really wonderful and his OT Lorna is GREAT! I really loved her a lot! Gianna had full range on her back and about 50 degrees sitting up before surgery. She is doing really well and already is up to 30 degrees sitting up! I highly recommend Dr. Grossman and his staff they are excellent! Please feel free to write back with any questions you might have I'll be happy to tell you anything you want to know!

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! The replys have really helped me to see where we are heading, even though I know every child is different in their injury.Still, if your daughter has had this much success, I am hopeful.I wasn't sure about seeing someone that nobody seemed to know about.
