any atlanta mom's?

Post by melnruss »

I am new to the board and have a 4 week old son with ROBPI. He has function of his hand and wrist and is shrugging his shoulder. My pediatrician is very old fashioned and wants to use the "wait until he's 8 weeks old and see" approach, but that's not good enough for me right now? Does anyone have any experience with Dr's in the Atlanta area? Just curious as to where you would start. Thanks for any help or info.

Hi and congratulations on the new baby. Welcome to the boards. and sorry for the reason you're here.

I am not from GA, so I don't have any unput about that. But don't wait and see. Find a specialist now. So you can start range of motion exercises. This network has a great resource page and you can search "the best" by state. Good luck with everything and I hope your baby has a terrific recovery.

Sincerely,
Marlyn (mom to Javier 1 w/ ROBPI)

P.S I am sure someone from your area will post soon.

Hi:
We have a new registry on the website. You should register and look for other parents in your area who have registered.

Everyone should register... this is how we can all get in touch with each other.

We are no longer in Georgia but Janessa was born in Atlanta. One of the nurses at the hospital refered us to the pediatric therapy services at HUGHS SPALDING CHILDRENS HOSPITAL. 404-616-6402 They did great work with Janessa for 9 months until we moved back to Florida. I decided to go with Texas Childrens for her surgery so i am not familiar with any specialists in Atlanta. Hughs may be able to help you out.
Sorry I couldnt give you more. Hope this helps.
