Desparate...help needed please...

Post by lizzyb »

Some of you might be aware of the hack attack at Ezboards where the TBPI Group messageboards are hosted. Every messageboard hosted there has been affected (100's of thousands) including ours. We have lost well over 7,000 posts, all fora have been emptied apart from one which has 6 posts left, and even tho we are being told that the Ezboard staff are doing all they can to restore as much data to the boards as they can, after 9 days, my gut feeling tells me that we are not going to get anything back from their restoral attempts.

Because I believe that we are quite frankly scr*wed, I have decided to try and search for our data via search engines and any other means open to us. A lot of the threads are there in various search engines, Google being the main one and I have managed to retrieve many threads and posts from there.

The other place where posts and/or threads may be stored is in Internet Explorers cache, (history file)By default, this stores every webpage visited up to a specifis time e.g. 2 weeks.

I am asking if anyone who posts here has also recently looked at the pages on the TBPI Website to look and see if these are still accessable in their history folder. It is a simple process to extract them and I have posted details on how to do this on the TBPI Group website in the Temporary forum. http://p072.ezboard.com/fadultswithbrac ... D=18.topic

We have so far managed to find many posts using this method, and I will use these to rebuild the messageboards as and when we get the go ahead from Ezboards that it is safe to do so.

Many thanks in advance for this..I'll post and let everyone know how it goes...

Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: I am ROBPI, global injury, Horner's Syndrome. No surgery but PT started at 2 weeks old under the direction of New York Hospital. I wore a brace 24/7 for the first 11 months of my life. I've never let my injury be used as an excuse not to do something. I've approach all things, in life, as a challenge. I approach anything new wondering if I can do it. I tried so many things I might never have tried, if I were not obpi. Being OBPI has made me strong, creative, more determined and persistent. I believe that being obpi has given me a very strong sense of humor and compassion for others.

Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: January 1980 Yamaha RD200 vs 16 wheeler truck, result, 1 totally paralysed right arm. I was 21, now 54. I had no surgery, I don't regret this. Decided to totally ignore limitations (easily done aged 21) adapted very quickly to one handed life, got married, had 3 kids, worked- the effect of the injury on my life (once the pain stopped being constant) was minimal and now, aged 54, I very rarely even think of it, unless I bash it or it gets cold, then I wish I'd had it amputated :) Except for a steering knob on my car, I have no adaptations to help with life, mainly because I honestly don't think of myself as disabled and the only thing I can't do is peel potatoes, which is definitely a good thing.

Mine did go back 3 weeks but the links were grey???
Anyway I started a new pain thread over on the tbpi boards as I think we need to start thinking about rebuilding what we had. Who knows, maybe the new start will create new information.....
Sorry this has happened Lizzy, I'll help you rebuild things if I can
