Saw old therapist yesterday...

Hi all,

First off, my mom had to have surgery yesterday, and it happened to be at the same hospital where Alyssa was born. We had to wait 2 hours for her to go off to surgery, so while my dad sat with her (you can have 1 person at a time) I decided to take a walk to the therapy department to see if the therapist that worked with Alyssa since she was 10 days old thru 6 mos. of age was still there. She was so wonderful with her and us that I have never forgot her. Anyway I found her and she was so happy to see me! She even remembered Alyssa's name. I updated her on Alyssa and her surgeries etc.. and asked her if she still sees alot of these cases. Unfortunately, she does. And unfortunately again, she said she is seeing them by the same midwife that injured Alyssa!! This woman is still working at this hospital injuring children. How do they get away with this? I wish there were something I could do. I can't do a whole lot with the hospital since we were involved with a lawsuit with them and I am not supposed to taint their name so to say, but it really makes me angry! The therapist also asked if I could bring Alyssa over to see her this coming Friday and she would like to spend some time and play with her for a while! I thought that was so sweet of her.

O.K.... Jody this may sound paranoid but...be careful what you say to the therapist....She may be nice but she also works for the same hospital that injured your daughter....If your lawsuit is compeltely over it probably won't matter....But could they take you back to court and cause problems for you? I read somewhere else that a parent found out a hospital had set someone up because the ped. was on the payroll.... Just better to be cautious than to be sorry...It does sound great that she remembers her name! I've had some people not even remember name, case, etc...

You are right too be cautious, but we are settled in our lawsuit and believe it or not, she was totally on our side when Alyssa was born. She helped us a great deal and told us about CCS (therapy services paid by the state) etc.. There is nothing that they can do at this point even if she were to talk, it would all be heresay anway!

Thanks - good advice for anyone in the middle of a lawsuit!
