Bracial Plexus Neuralgia

Post by admin »

My husband has Bracial Plexus Neuralgia. I'm not sure but I don't think it is Erns Syndrome.. He was born with it and it is hereditary in his family. Him mom has it, her dad has it, his dad has it. It has been passed down several generations. Is this the same thing as what is on this website. I am expecting my first child in March and there is a strong possibility my child with have Bracial Plexis Neuralgia so I was trying to read up on it and get a better idea of what it is. My husband has pain, all the time, in his arms and shoulders.. tingling, numbness, weekness and pain. He has had it all his life but still has complete mobility. Does anyone have any information on this, or know if it is the same as this websites information? Any info would be helpful at this point. Thanks.

Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: January 1980 Yamaha RD200 vs 16 wheeler truck, result, 1 totally paralysed right arm. I was 21, now 54. I had no surgery, I don't regret this. Decided to totally ignore limitations (easily done aged 21) adapted very quickly to one handed life, got married, had 3 kids, worked- the effect of the injury on my life (once the pain stopped being constant) was minimal and now, aged 54, I very rarely even think of it, unless I bash it or it gets cold, then I wish I'd had it amputated :) Except for a steering knob on my car, I have no adaptations to help with life, mainly because I honestly don't think of myself as disabled and the only thing I can't do is peel potatoes, which is definitely a good thing.

Hi Gerald
You might get some more responses if you post on the adult trauma message board, this one is for birth injured adults. You can also try http://pub28.ezboard.com/badultswithbra ... usinjuries that is a website specially set up for trauma injured adults. There are surgeries that might help your son, please say what country you are in and maybe someone will know where the nearest doctor is.
Good luck!
