Just thought id give you all an update on my D.L.A claim. the last time i posted a message I was waiting to be examined by a Doctor as I was apealing against their decision. Well a very nice Doctor examined me in my home early one morning asked lots of questions but when I got his report back he had decided in his opinion I could walk 800 meters without any probem, how he came to this I dont know as he asked me to walk the length of my living room and back all of 24ft in total. but with the report was also a date to sit in front of a panel who's opinion is final, and a sheet of paper for your comments.
I stated that I had informed the doctor I had just got out of bed after 11 hours rest and that he hadnt accounted for my panic attacks I now suffer when out alone and have to go near or past a group of people.
Anyway the long and short of it allk is I was awarded D.L.A middle rate and mobility lower rate.
Why should we go through all this rubbish when we are genuinely disabled.
If any of you decide to claim disability living allowance you nearly always get refused on the first claim you must apeal against this and you probably get refused again with the offer of an independent body looking at the claim then probably a doctors visit and then sitting in front of a panel of 3 people. it really is fight all the way but you must do it, all it cost you is a bit of time.
