Long time !
Hey guys. I know it has been a long time since I posted, and I apologize. I still miss and love every single one of my "special people". Well just to catch you guys up, I have been attending college full time and working full time (I think I put a lot on my plate) but there isn't anything I can’t handle. I am studying Cardiovascular Technology and still working @ the hospital. I am looking forward to catch up with everyone I met and have missed since last camp.
For those who have never met me I am a 25 year old man who was born with a LOBPI. Since I have found out about my injury 3 years ago, I have used it as an excuse to succeed and not fail. Even though it has not been easy and I have gone through all the pains and teasing, and before I knew of my injury I used it as my crutch. Since I Have been with the UBPN and shared with others, I can joke with my little problem. Because I realize there is many people out there with physical problems of their own. It takes a lot of love forgiveness and strength to keep going and to always find what makes you happy, and to follow your heart and dreams.
Since the semester is ending, I hope I can spend more time with my BPI family
Stay happy see you @ camp

- Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: I am ROBPI, global injury, Horner's Syndrome. No surgery but PT started at 2 weeks old under the direction of New York Hospital. I wore a brace 24/7 for the first 11 months of my life. I've never let my injury be used as an excuse not to do something. I've approach all things, in life, as a challenge. I approach anything new wondering if I can do it. I tried so many things I might never have tried, if I were not obpi. Being OBPI has made me strong, creative, more determined and persistent. I believe that being obpi has given me a very strong sense of humor and compassion for others.

Hi Anthony
I am so happy to hear from you. You sound like you are doing great and have come a long way since Camp 2003. I hope you can make it to camp this year.
I was hoping we would hear from you and the great progress you have made in the past two years.
Glad to see you back!

- Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: LOBPI. I am 77 yrs old and never had a name for my injuries until 2004 when I found UBPN at age 66.
My injuries are: LOBPI on upper body and Cerebrael Palsy on the lower left extremities. The only intervention I've had is a tendon transplant from my left leg to my left foot to enable flexing t age 24 in 1962. Before that, my foot would freeze without notice on the side when wearing heels AND I always did wear them at work "to fit in" I also stuttered until around age 18-19...just outgrew it...no therapy for it. Also suffered from very very low self esteem; severe Depression and Anxiety attacks started at menopause. I stuffed emotions and over-compensated in every thing I did to "fit in" and be "invisible". My injuries were Never addressed or talked about until age 66. I am a late bloomer!!!!!
I welcome any and all questions about "My Journey".
There is NO SUCH THING AS A DUMB QUESTION.
