muscle strength

Post by lizzyb »

I hope no-one minds me asking a couple of questions of all those who have had any kind of surgery in the past, (not really recently, but longer than 12 months ago) including nerve transplants, grafts and transfers.

I am working on a page for the TBPI Group website about this subject, and would like to get as much input as poss from as many people as I can...you can email me on liz@tbpi-group.org if you don't want to put any answers on here.

Question is, do you feel that the muscle(s) you have had reinnervated, whatever method was used, are now as strong as they were before and/or as strong as the corresponding muscle(s) on the unaffected side?

Could you please also indicate what surgery you had, which nerve(s) were used to graft/transfer etc, to which muscle(s) and when? Your answer could be, for example, "intercostal nerves (3) to bicep 1993. Bicep now about 50% as strong as the unaffected bicep."

Thanks
