a,
before the surgery i could not rotate my plam face down, it made it really difficult to type on the computer and hold things, plus it did not look natural at all. like morgan i did have and still have good hand function, and can reach up to my head on my own but no more unless i have the help of my right arm. when i had the surgery it put my hand in a neutral position, i lost a little of what i had, but not much, plus i gained rotaion that i didn't have (face down). so i'm really glad that i did it, it makes it easier for me to do things like my hair, type on the computer, mountain bike, i was even able to do flying trapeze! overall i've been very happy with the results!
