Hi Christy
I called Roje after I read your post and concerns. She called back and left a message reassuring me that the show doesn't explore BPI's and not to worry. The show is on videotaping and the info. is based around the main subject. She sounded real confident that BPI's and the causes were not going to be debated, and that no bad light would be shed on BPI's, so we will see. Sure hope that is the case.
I totally have the same concerns and fears, but find myself wishing there was a whole segment devoted entirely to BPI's. It is a very scary thing, but I think we have to be intelligent in how we approach things and just do our best. The media will always alter things, but I guess I am of the opinion that it is a chance we have to take. This injury has been silenced for so long and so much inaccurate info. has been given. I guess even if 50% accurate info. is given, at least it is given and people will begin to hear about it and start asking questions. We need to start somewhere. I only wish newspapers and t.v. could always speak the truth, but unfortunately that is just not the way it is and it stinks! Sorry to ramble on. I hope you feel okay about having your friends and family watch the show. And I sure hope it doesn't lead to further misunderstandings regarding this injury.
Take Care,
Elisa

Thank you so much Elisa! I had been so anxious for the segment to air and then I started getting worried... I will email and call my friends and family and have them watch this tomorrow. I agreed with everything that you said - the info has been silenced for too long. Most people have not even heard the words "brachial plexus injury" and so just the awareness that there is such an injury is a big start. Thank you for understanding my concerns, for taking the time to find out more information, and for helping me feel more at ease with asking others to tune in tomorrow. I really appreciate everything:)
I hope too that sometime soon they will do a whole segment on BPI's. It would sure help make so many of our lives better if more people understood besides those who live with it daily.
Thanks again,
Christy
