What is the "e-stim" you are all talking about?
Re: e-stim and insurance coverage
It's the NMES focus unit from EMPI. It costs around $1000.00..

Re: e-stim and insurance coverage
To Null: I have the UHC insurance too. With the same # of PT/OT visits per year. Last year, I appealed that to possibly get more also. I gave the insurance company letters from the bpi specialist my son had surgery with, letters from his PT, and everyhting else I could think of to help, and it went as far as having the meeting for the final decision, and later they notified me saying it was denied. I did all I could possibly think of and thought for sure the Drs. and PT's letters would have made the difference but it didnt. I wish you luck and please keep us informed if you get these additional visits and how you went about it. Maybe theres something I could do different but for the life of me, I dont know what it would be.
