Chicago BPI Summer Picnic

Post by admin »

Has anyone heard any information on when a picnic might be in Chicago this year? We are trying to plan summer vacations and don't want to miss it. Thanks.

Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: I am ROBPI, global injury, Horner's Syndrome. No surgery but PT started at 2 weeks old under the direction of New York Hospital. I wore a brace 24/7 for the first 11 months of my life. I've never let my injury be used as an excuse not to do something. I've approach all things, in life, as a challenge. I approach anything new wondering if I can do it. I tried so many things I might never have tried, if I were not obpi. Being OBPI has made me strong, creative, more determined and persistent. I believe that being obpi has given me a very strong sense of humor and compassion for others.
Location: New York

Jennifer,
Is it going to be at the zoo again? That was a fun idea.

Jennifer,
Check out www.lambsfarm.org. It may be something that could work for the picnic. If I come up with anything else I will let you know.

Jennifer,
Another idea is a place called 7 acres and Wild West Town. It is in Union, which is about 45 minutes or so from the O Hare Airport. It is a really nice little cowboy like town set up for kids with gun shows, stores, train rides, digging for gold, etc. They also have a nice Picnic Grove Area where you can have large groups, food, etc. There is a small food shop inside the Wild West Town, so everyone could get their own food, too. I have been to several events at this place from large wedding receptions to small birthday parties. Every time I was there it was very nice. The picnic grove area is private and set off so there is not a million people staring at you. If you want more information, just let me know here, and I will e-mail you for your address. I could get you brochures or other information if you want it.

Lambs farm would be great. Not only is it close to me, but it is a nice family place with alot of things to do and easy to get too. They also are the home to disabled children and adults so we would be helping them out also.

I love lambs farm, they have the nicest stuff to do there. I also think santa's village or kiddieland are good spots since they have pavilion picnic areas.

Hailey's Mom,
Just curious as to where you live? By the things you mention, we may be close?
