Re: gabitrol
Hi Steve, are you talking about Gabritril? If you are, then I can tell you a little about it. I'm currently taking 2 pills (each are 2 mg) a day so the total is 4 mg. Not a lot, the maximum you can take is around 32 mg a day. I think that this medicine has helped me a lot. I was taking neurontin (300mg) 3x a day but I was getting jabs of severe pain. But when I started taking Gabitril about 2 and one half months ago, I have noticed a significant decrease in my pain level and frequency. My usual pain was around 7.5 but now, it's around 3 or 4. The pain is still there but a lot less noticeable.
My accident was last September and I still haven't had any surgeries (hopefully I'll have my first surgery at the end of March), so I can't contribute the deceasing pain to the success of surgery. I know this medicine worked for me and the pain has lessened so much that I'm thinking of quitting taking Gabritil in a couple of days.
Let me know if you have any other questions, I'll be happy to answer them. I don't think a lot of people on this forum are taking gabrtril because it's a fairly new medicine...but I'm not sure. Did your doctor prescribed them to you?
Bye.

Re: gabitrol
Vim,
Thanks for the info. It's not for me but was suggested by a neurologist for my 22 yr old son, left BPI, all five avulsions, post13 months from accident , post 6 and 8 months major surgieries at Mayo. He is off everything except percocet when needed but still in a lot of pain on some days. I'm not even sure he will try a new medicine as he firmly believes nothing will work. But your post sounded promising. Thanks
