Saturday Night Palsy???
Can anyone tell me what this is? Or where I can find more info on it? Thanks!
Re: Saturday Night Palsy???
It's a colloquial term for compression of the radial nerve caused by sleeping or dangling the arm over the back of a chair and compressing this nerve. In most cases it is a transient injury.
The Saturday night name was penned, I believe, by emergency room staff who see this most often, after someone has been on a binge Sat. night and comes in on a Sunday complaining of this injury. At least that is how it was explained to me!

OH MY GOD..I HAVE HAD THIS FOR A WEEK NOW!!
I woke up unable to move my arm last Wednesday obvisouly due to sleeping on it badly but gosh I have never experienced such pain it would shoot out from the top of shoulder down the arm into fingers when i tried to move it..I couldn,t brush my hair as i was unable to lift my arm i wasn't able to drive it really gave me an insight into how restrictve Eoghan's arm is..I am still unable to put my arm behind my back and there is slight pain when excessively used
I called it my Eoghan arm!!
Oh I dont drink and am a very light sleeper awake to Eoghan many times a night

Thanks, I remembered reading about it someplace, but couldnt remember where or what it said. Im losing my mind, Ha Ha! Do you think it feels something like your hand/arm "falling asleep"? The stinging, burning sensation?? Is this similar to what a BPI feels like? Arm going limp like you cant pick it up?? Ok Im rambling, Ill shut up.
