insurance denied NMES unit

Post by Andrea »

I was wondering if anyone has UHC POS insurance and received an NMES unit? I was denied coverage for the unit and was wondering if anyone had it covered under UHC for their child? I'm going to appeal but was just curious. Thanks!

Andrea, get a letter of medical necessity from your doc that is very strong. NMES is NOT experimental and many insurance companies pay for it already. Good luck! Stay strong and aggressive with them - they just want to see how far you will push them. They try to get away with anything.

I have United Health Care Insurance. Is that what youre speaking of? They should cover it 100% because it is durable medical equipment. They will give you the run around if they think they can. E mail me if youd like.

Our insurance did not initially want ot buy our Estim machine. After talking to them they agreed to rent it for a few months. Finally they ended up purchasing it because it would be cheaper in the long run
