Shoulder Pops out

Post by CHRISSEATTLE »

I was in a motorcycle accident this year and rcvd BPI injury with avulsion of 3 roots. My question is: Does everyone with this injury have the arm pop out of the shoulder socket (or seem that way)? How do the doctors know that it's not a torn rotator cup that keeps me from lifting my arm?

Chris, the arm popping out of the socket, very often, is subluxation, the muscles in the shoulder are two weak (lack of inervation)to hold the arm in the socket. The arm eing that there is not muscle control in there either, makes the arm heavy which adds to the subluxation. i Hope this makes sense. It is 2am but I think it should.......

Thanks Court. I thought it was normal but not sure. Glad to hear I'm not the only one.

In n my personal experience, the coldness comes from lack of circulation. When I Wore a sling I didnt notice it as much as I do now, when it gets scols, it gets really cold and stays that way! Not usre where you live Denise but keep the hand and arm warm. SOmetimes keeping the arm warm helps with the hand! I wear an arm warmer in the cold months, I live in Michigan. Its like a leg warmer and I wear it under my clothes...... just a thought!

I was cut off by some jerk that decided he could cut across 3 lanes and beat a sport bike to the upcoming exit. I was thrown end over end and landed 2 feet from his car. Not a good day. You?

Does anyone have the problem of the shoulder dislocating with the slightest movement? My sons dislocates and he pops it back in himself, but he has been in horrible pain
