Birth records

Post by Judy-T »

Well, I have been trying to obtain my birth records with not much success. I was told that my mother had to request this information. She contacted the hospital and was told that records are only kept for 22 years.? But, they will try and locate them. Has any one had success locating their records? I have a feeling mine are not going to show up.

Judy,
Amazingly I was able to get my records a few years ago, which would have been 45 years after I was born. And the hospital where I was born does not even exist any more so I got them in the nick of time. They did have to go offsite to get them and they were microfilmed.
It is worth a try.

Judy

I tried to get mine which were supposed to be on microfilm but the warehouse where they were stored burned down... a few years ago...

I was told that the records from the hospital I was treated at NY had my records on microfilm but it seems no one know where I should write to...

I wonder if our records were kept because they thought no one would ever look at them... I think it is only in the last 15 years that people got copies of medical records... maybe longer but not that much longer...
Good Luck
