good surgeons

Post by steveh »

It has been a couple months since I have posted, but wanted to get everyone's opinion on a surgeon. I am not 100% sure we are going that direction, but want to be prepared. I have heard of Nath, kozin, shenaq, waters, and recently van heest. Any info anyone can provide be it good or bad would be much appreciated. thanks to everyone for your help

Hi Steve,

We are working with Dr. Waters and love him. Our Ashleigh has surgery on Monday Nov 29th so I can let you know further how her surgery goes but thusfar, I can't say enough good about Dr. Waters and his staff. They are compassionate, educated, have great bedside manner, are very thorough and take their time with you during your visits. Good luck finding a surgeon for your child.

Steve:

We have experience with Dr Waters. My daughter has been seeing Dr Waters since she was 2 months old. She had secondary surgery at 2 1/2 and has had excellent recovery and it was really a miracle for her. Not sure what kinf of surgery you are looking into, but Ella had the Anterior Caps Release and muscle transfers. It was the best decision I ever made and Dr Waters had me very confident in his abilities and in terms of what would happen Post Op with her recovery. Ella is now 3 years old. We go back to Waters in Jan for a 1 yr post op MRI. If you have any questions for me feel free to email. Ldybug4134@aol.com

Hi. We take our daughter, Amber, to see Dr. Kozin. She has not had any surgery yet, but is scheduled for the anterior capsule release on December 6th. I heard Dr. Kozin speak at a BPI seminar and was convinced right then that we had to switch our care over to him right away! That is exactly what we did and have been extremely happy with his care for Amber thus far. He is very knowledgable, caring, and just overall makes you feel comfortable. He has called me numerous times to answer my questions and emails me back the same day whenever I ask even more questions. He's our choice by far. I have emailed with Dr. Waters and used him as a second opinion before deciding on surgery for our daughter. He seemed very nice and knowledgable as well. Good luck with your decision. Go with your heart. Get multiple opinions.

What kind of surgery? Primary or Secondary?
Not all of the surgerons mentioned do primary? Most of the responses are really referring to Secondary surgerie. I believe Dr. Nath, Dr. Waters do primary. Not sure if Dr. Kozin or Dr. Shenaq do Primary? I have communicated with Dr. Waters, Dr. Nath both are very good.

Hi guys,

Thanks for the advice. Actually I am talking about primary. If anyone has anything to add let me know. Please feel free to email me personally @harford19@aol.com as some of you have already done. Thanks to all again.
