yup, i have, lizzie!

technically, it was caused by TWO doctors. first one was when i went for radiation and asked about the side effects. at no time did he say the treatment could cause nerve damage! the second was when my hand/arm had gone numb and i was getting the pain we're all so familiar with. that dr. said he couldn't tell if it was another tumor due to all the scar tissue, so he did "exploratory". i signed the waiver with my right hand the morning of the op; when i woke up from surgery, i couldn't move my arm/hand/fingers!

Well... I just went to the Dr. Phil site, and it looks as if I'll be more in the role of consultant than actual participant. I hadn't realized the theme of the show will be a situation where a doctor has made a mistake. We're among the fortunate where all our doctors have been phenominal.

So - I had cheesecake for lunch! And a brownie with ice cream for dessert!

Cheers,

Ellen

ROFLMAO, Ellen!

btw, did you know that the minute you cut cheesecake, all the calories and fat fall out? same for brownies, but the added ice cream helps, as it freezes the cals first *grin*

HHAAAAHAAA Nice interpretation Ellen! This board is getting more like the TBPI Group one everyday! :0) :0)

...more on the calories thing...broken biscuits (what you guys call cookies)have no calories whatsoever, as do hot chips stolen from someone elses plate, and of course, EVERYone knows that eating ANYTHING standing up contains no calories at all!! ENJOY!

Well, I'm the expert on all that. I'm also the one who eats half the ice cream right out of the carton while looking for a bowl to put the ice cream in.

Guess Who.

Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: January 1980 Yamaha RD200 vs 16 wheeler truck, result, 1 totally paralysed right arm. I was 21, now 54. I had no surgery, I don't regret this. Decided to totally ignore limitations (easily done aged 21) adapted very quickly to one handed life, got married, had 3 kids, worked- the effect of the injury on my life (once the pain stopped being constant) was minimal and now, aged 54, I very rarely even think of it, unless I bash it or it gets cold, then I wish I'd had it amputated :) Except for a steering knob on my car, I have no adaptations to help with life, mainly because I honestly don't think of myself as disabled and the only thing I can't do is peel potatoes, which is definitely a good thing.

Cream cheese is good to eat like that. If you squeeze the sides of the carton it comes out in one nice lump. If you dollop blackcurrant jam on it before you squeeze it down your neck its like a very quick cheesecake. Yum. :0)
