Thanks so much for the article, I am printing it out and putting it in Tyler's folder to give to our lawyer. I had the worst episiotomy (5th degree?) and it was the most painful part of the birthing process. It makes me so sick to know that it may not have been necessary, it sure didn't keep Tyler from having all five of his nerves damaged.

Was just taking a little break to post this article, and was happily surprized to see thatsomeone beat me to it,
ofcourse to many of us it is like a DUH moment...
but OBs dont practice from a 'what is best for the patient' standpoint, its all about the liability- so show the lawyers!
