Decorating Splint straps

Well, I decorated Michaela's straps tonight. After her bath we all sat down to watch TV and I stiched for a while. I went to Michael's Crafts and bought some Fun Foam Shapes and door hangers and a foam picture for Michaela to decorate. I got lady bugs and flowers and flower pots and letters and leaves and caterpillars amd thought she'd decorate them to occupy her for a while. Leave it to my daughter to want them on her splint straps, So we watched TV and I sewed all these critters and flowers in pots onto her splint straps. Took a couple of hours but they won't come off when washed and I didn't have to worry about drying time. Can't take credit for the idea though, it was all MIchaela's. I guess her classmates tomorrow will have something to distract them. LOL LeeAnne

Hi, LeeAnne. Sounds cool! I'll bet Michaela and all her friends had lots of fun today. I guess I'll have to checkout the fun foam shapes b/c I'm not sure what they are. The only foam shape things I know of are very thick -- to thick to sew onto anything. BTW, fyi, the fabric paint and iron-ons also stay on in the wash (well, I've only ever hand-washed the splint straps anyway). Thanks for sharing your ideas. -Tina
