Today I travel, Tomm. I get test!!!!!

Post by frankie »

Well finally i have insurance. So I am on my way to see Dr. Shenaq in Houstoun. It will be a long morning of testing then an afternoon appt with Dr. Shenaq.

This will be my first testing for my arm since after birth. I am now 28 years old and pray that the test show something that can lead to improvement by surgery.

I just dont want to be dissappointed and have no hope in recovery, I want to be able to raise my arm above my head for the first time in my life.

Well off I go......................................................................................................................Frankie

Frankie,

So glad that this is finally happening for you.
I remember so well that first time I saw a bpi specialist as an adult. It opened up my eyes to so many things. And it was Dr. Shenaq who saw me and said that 'yes something more can be done'. I hope you get the same good news.

Let us know how it goes, ok?

Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: I am ROBPI, global injury, Horner's Syndrome. No surgery but PT started at 2 weeks old under the direction of New York Hospital. I wore a brace 24/7 for the first 11 months of my life. I've never let my injury be used as an excuse not to do something. I've approach all things, in life, as a challenge. I approach anything new wondering if I can do it. I tried so many things I might never have tried, if I were not obpi. Being OBPI has made me strong, creative, more determined and persistent. I believe that being obpi has given me a very strong sense of humor and compassion for others.
Location: New York
