Does anyone know...
Can mod quad surgery be performed by Dr. Nath if the shoulder joint is dislocated?

The mod quad is a surgery that involves muscle/tendon releases and transfers. Texas Children's Hospital started calling it a "mod quad" a number of years ago. Many excellent doctors perform this type of surgery, but call it "a muscle/tendon release and transfer."
As for what Dr. Nath in particular will do, you have to ask him. Call or email down there if you are concerned.
This type of surgery can put the shoulder back in a better and more functional position so dislocation doesn't occur. Remember that only a bpi specialist can decide what can or can't be done in any given situation.
hope it helps,

Only speaking of what my son had done. Kyle had the mod quad and the capsulodesis done at the same time when he was 4. He was posteriorly dislocated. The caps surgery is to put them back into socket. If I am not mistaken (and someone correct me if I am wrong)Dr. Nath does perform these two together for that exact reason. But for a professional opinion, just e-mail him and ask.
