Anyone have the surgery for biceps lengthening?
Wondering if any adult has had around a 90 degree contracture at the elbow joint? If so how many surgeries did it take to get it straight, and what was the post surgery and recovery like? Dr. Nath thought it would take multiple surgeries to get to the end results...My concern is scar tissue building up over and over after each consecutive surgery. Dr. Nath recommended using a Dynasplint. Has anyone tried that first and if you did-did it give you results, and how long did it take?

Re: Anyone have the surgery for biceps lengthening?
I think that there is a limit of how contracted a tendon has to be for a dynasplint to work. Ninety degrees is quite a tight contracture. I think that the dynasplint can help give it a stretch but it won't do the whole job. My daughter had a 45 degree contracture and the dynasplint was able to stretch it out another 20 degrees but it was not permanent. The biceps tendon lengthening surgery however has kept her arm straight for a year and two months now so we are very pleased with that. The only symptom we had post surgery was some muscle spasms that occurred the 3 days post surgery and then it was gone. Dynasplint has their own site and you can see their elbow extension splints there. Good luck!
