Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: I am ROBPI, global injury, Horner's Syndrome. No surgery but PT started at 2 weeks old under the direction of New York Hospital. I wore a brace 24/7 for the first 11 months of my life. I've never let my injury be used as an excuse not to do something. I've approach all things, in life, as a challenge. I approach anything new wondering if I can do it. I tried so many things I might never have tried, if I were not obpi. Being OBPI has made me strong, creative, more determined and persistent. I believe that being obpi has given me a very strong sense of humor and compassion for others.
Location: New York

Jennifer
I am so sorry to hear this sad news. Mike turned found UBPN boards around the same time I did and was such a nice person. My heart goes out to his children. I see he is being waked in Chicago not in NY. Thank you for letting us know.

I am very saddened at this news as I just talked at lengths with Mike after my evaluation with Dr. Nath. He has a heart of gold, and cared dearly for all those children and the brachial plexus injury itself. He was the first, and only adult I have personally talked too and met who had OBPI like myself, and gave me hope for my future. I had a picture taken of the both of us. That picture will be treasured forever. My prayers, and thoughts will be with his family and friends. They had a gem!!! Thanks to all of you who contributed to the wonderful weekend, the presentation and evaluation was very informative, and I had a great time. Mike you will never be forgotten, and will always be an inspiration to me and all the little children you touched through your love.....Nicole

Thanks Jennifer for all the updates on Mike. This is a sad time for UBPN families.

As I said earlier I didn't have the pleasure of meeting him, but please send our love to his family.

Hugs, Karen and Family
