Latissimus Dorsi Transfer

Post by mtgfr »

I am looking for any information on this procedure, success rates, information on the best doctors to contact etc... My background: I am a male 44 years of age with a massive rotator cuff tear on my left side. It was surgically repaired in November 03 with addition of tissue. It has re-torn and the third opinion I have received is to have this procedure performed otherwise surgical repair that was previously performed would gain most likely tear again. I have good range of motion and want to maintain an active lifestyle, mostly golf.

Any information is greatly appreciated.

Hi mt, my daughter just had that very procedure on Jan 3o of this year. The results were and continue to be excellent. As far as Doc's go , can't help you as she see's a ped ortho doc but i do wish you all the very best and highly recommend the surgery for maintanence.

My 2.5yr old daughter just had the surgery at Seattle's Children's Hospt. While of course you could not get in there, you may want to try and call them and ask for an adult referral. The Brachial Plexus Clinic is part of the Ortho Dept there. Just an idea.
