First Annual MICHIGAN Work Shop for TBPIs, OBPIs & their families, PTs, OTs, Case Managers, doctors, nurses and any other interested parties

GUEST SPEAKER: Dr. Rahul Nath, Neurosurgeon and specialist of Erb's Pulsy and Brachial Plexus, from Baylor Medical Center and Texas Children's Hospital, Houston, Texas.

SCHEDULE: Friday September 10, 7:00pm - 8:30pm
Presentation by and discussion with Dr. Nath

Saturday September 11, 9:00am - 4:00pm
Appointments with Dr. Nath
Lunch-12:00 noon (price to be announced)

Free child care and supervision will be provided along with some activities and arts and crafts for children while waiting for appointments and for those who will not be seeing the doctor but waiting for their sibling

Since Dr Nath is NOT licensed in the state of Michigan we need to bring in a licensed Michigan doctor. We are working with a physiatrist who has worked with and is interested in these cases. This is who Courtney sees in Michigan and he keeps in contact with Dr Nath
regarding her surgeries, therapies and tests. Final details will follow as plans are secured.

Covenant Medical Center Mackinaw is on a main strip with plenty of hotels and motels available within 2 miles of the hospital, along with shopping malls, etc.

Final information will be available as soon as it is collaborated but we did want to get the dates and times out for those wanting to see/hear Dr Nath.

Reservations and times for appointments can start immediately; first come, first serve as far as times.

UBPN will soon be preparing for the next camp, which will be in October of 2005. At this point Camp is the only 'event' that we, as an organization, put on. We are not officially involved in any of the local support group functions, although obviously we are in support of such kinds of activities. There is great need to educate and raise awareness at all levels!

Courtney has a ubpn mailing address because she answers questions about tbpi as part of the Open Arms committee.
