Prayers need for our premature granddaughter

Post by Kathleen M »

This morning we were blessed with a new grandchild she is premature 29 weeks... My daughter in law has been in bed for 5 months and the last month in the hospital to carry her baby this far. Her water broke over two weeks ago and last night she had a fever and the baby was delivered this morning....
Her name is Grace Mary and of course we consider her and Amazing Grace that we have gotten this far. She was pink at first but now has lung and blood problem her white count is very low and she is in major distress. We knew that the first 24 hours are critical but these added problems make her condition worse. We need a miracle so please pray for my son and his family and especially for Grace Mary she weighed in at 3 lbs. 10 oz.

thank you
Kath

Congrats! 3lbs is a good sign. My neice weighed 1.1 lbs. She was nearly 4 months early and does have cerebral palsy. Her name is Robin. She was so small and looked like a little bird so my brother named her Robin. SHe is now 14 and is doing well despite her problems lately. Your grand daughter will be fine. There is so much doctors can do these days since my neice was born. I wish you well.

Kath:
We'll say a special prayer for Grace Mary that she will have the strength to get through the critical hours ahead. Also, for the medical team caring for her. And for your son and daughter-in-law to give them the strength and faith to endure this time of crisis. And for you and Ralph as you continue to support and give your strength to your family.

Kathleen
may God bless Grace Mary and keep her safe from harm and illness.
How precious this baby is- she is a little reminder that we should never take anything for granted, and that if we have our good health, we have everything we really need.
I know you will keep us posted - just know that we are ALL thinking about your family and praying for Grace

Kath,
You know that your and your family are in my heart and in my prayers. I hope every minute of each day Grace Mary grows stronger and stronger. She has been a fighter for so long. And for Christa that she too grows stronger each minute.

Kath,

You will all be in my prayers - especially Grace Mary.

I have a 33 weeker that was 3 lbs 9 ozs at birth. There is a terrific wensite about preemies (medical stuff and emotional support, too). It is http://www.preemie-l.org. The folks there will help you make sense of all the medical stuff as well as being more than happy to lend a BTDT ear and shoulder for emotional support.

Have they told you about who typically does best in the NICU for preemies? Girls.... :-)

My thoughts will continue to be with you and your whole family as you travel this long journey. If I can ever be of assistance, please feel free to email me.

Many, many hugs - and a huge congratulations on your newest, littlest blessing.

Sally
