Need some light shed.....

Post by Joni »

Hello, I have a two year old daughter Machera, who has a very bad BP injury, spinal injury, and had a stroke. My husband and I are 5 months into an unplanned pregnancy. I am so scared of anything bad happening although I found an OB who promised a C-section. I also feel like we are going to take away from Machera needs. Also to make things a little more strssful, we have a malpractice trial set for two months after the new baby is born! Can anyone shed some light from being in a similiar situation? By the way, if anyone lives in or near Colorado, we have a monthly support group here and would love more families to join! We built this from the four families that were at the 01 conference in Colorado! Thanks, and God Bless.......

Joni,

I hear you. Your wrote one paragraph but it's packed with a whole lot of "stuff". I think that you and your husband would really benefit by some professional counseling to help sort things out, to help coming to grips and understanding your feelings better, and also by setting a plan for a means of how to cope with all that will be happening in the next few months....

I am glad you posted this, because doing so shows that you are thinking about it already. I certainly hope that everything goes well, your pregnancy, birth and trial but most importantly I hope that you and your husbband get through it all in a 'healthy' and positive way.

God Bless,
francine

kissies to Machera (what a beautiful name!)

and ps - can I have the information about your support group so we can add it to the support group list?

I agree with Francine, getting some help for you and your husband would be a positive step. I also have a BP child and she is the oldest. I had similar thoughts to yours with my second pregnancy. Up until 2 weeks before my second daughter was born, my Doc was insistent that he would deliver my baby, with no problems, vaginaly. I of course was having nightmares about this one getting stuck as well, so I asked my Doctor to please call the OB, so that I could at least ask his opinion. I got an appointment with the OB and he agreed without any hesitaion that I should have a C-section. One week later I went into labor and had a c- section. She was one pound larger than my first so I am glad that I made the decision for a c-section!

If it means anything at all, having a baby around was very good for my oldest daughter. Having a younger sister is a huge joy for her and she is very proud to be sharing all her knowledge with her. Not even once has their been a negative thought by either my Husband or I about having another child. Somehow, we are all healthier and happier for having done so.

I hope this is helpful, and good luck with the next few months, and your pregnancy and birth. Our prayers will be with you.
