Need your help please

I am left obpi, and live in Montana. I met a gal yesterday via phone who's little girl was in a car accident and has tbpi in her right arm. All she can do is shrug her shoulder at this point. She has absolutely no movement in her arm whatsoever. She had a C-7 surgery done. The docs told her that her nerves have detached from her spinal cord. She also has slight brain injury. She had her surgery in TX and they told her there isn't much more that they can do. Does anyone know where she might be able to get a second opinion. Or is there any hope that the older she gets she may start to regain some use of her arm. I really need your help and opinions on this please. I appreciate any and all help.

I don't want to confuse you or give you any false hope. So much depends upon the individual injury. How long ago was the injury, what surgery was performed, etc. Dr. Nath is in Texas, and he is one of the leading bpi doctors out there. Hope this helps...Karl...

I understand that each individual is different and I also told that to her. I just have heard of stories where the child hadn't moved their arm for so long and then slowly movement came back. Her injury does seem quite severe. Just trying to help her out. Even if its helping her out emotionally I will do that. Thanks

Rachel, I wish I could help but I'm in the UK so telling you about Drs over here probably wouldn't be much use...unless this lady can afford to bring her child over here. The TBPI Group here have recently heard from a lady in the UK who has a daughter around the same age who, sadly, was also injured (TBPI) in a car accident very recently. Her surgeon was Proff. Simon Kay at 'Jimmies' hospital in Leeds. It is too early in this particular child's case to give any precise details about how successful her surgery will be, and as you know, each case is very different. I hope the lady concerned can find some more info soon.
