Cincinnati BPI cnt

Post by tina arvizu »

I am going to tour the new Brachial Plexus Center at Cincinnati Children's Hospital next week. Our daughter was born in Cincinnati almost 4 years ago and there was little to no help for us there in 2000. I am happy to see they have opened this new center. I would love to hear some feedback from anyone who has been there. Feel free to email me direct at tinaarvizu@hotmail.com THANKS

They have come a long way since 2000 here in Cinti.
We love the therapist in that clinic...she is amazing with the kids, is very knowledgeable and really cares about the kids!

We are very familiar with the clinic and the therapists. We've had Sophie at Cinci Children's since she was born in 2001 and she had surgery there with Dr. Mehlman in Nov (2003). We've had all good experiences (except the long waits on clinic days). Very glad they formalized their services into a clinic now. The therapists are awesome and we also do swim therapy classes on Wed nights at Drake center (on Galbraith) which is $8 a week and doesn't go towards your insurance as PT, but does have a PT in the pool with you, as well as other parent/child families.

Do you live in/near Cincinnati?

Sorry to write hurredly. Please feel free to email me if you have any questions!

That is so exciting. My son is almost 5 and they had very little to offer then. We did have some wonderful PT's and OT's through Childrens though. But the docs were very anti-surgery, until he was already scheduled at TCH. I'm so very glad to know this is available for our little ones now. And sad that it is necessary.

Amen. I thought my daughter would be the last "now that they know what can happen". How stupid was I?
