Looks like we are heading back to st louis for surgery next month. My son still has no use of his tricep. The pain has eased tremendously, but emotionally it is very tough. Recently turned 21 and living back at home with mom and dad is very tough. He is considering trying to find some kind of work when he gets back. At this point he is willing to do anything. I'm sure many of you have the same problem, stir crazy. There is only so much tv to be watched! Do any of you have any suggestions on what he may be able to do? It's his dominent arm that he has lost use of.
I'll let you know later how the surgery goes. He's scheduled apr 22. Till then we will just keep working with pt and hoping for the best.

Re: going back for surgery
Hey,
I'm so sorry to read about your son. The waiting game is hardest of all.
You asked about professions your son might want to consider. The below thread is several pages back by now on the topic list, but there are some good ideas in it. Very valid question.

Re: going back for surgery
I would honestly have to say that anything he wants to do with in reason, he cant lift 80lb bricks, he can do! I am not yet working again but will be here soon. I went back to school full time and am finishing up my BBA, I am going into hotel mgt, fun, travel, good $, ad can be done perfectly with 1 arm! What ever you want to do, just put your mind to it and do it! I will be 24 in a few weeks here so I can TOTALLY relate, my crash was 4 days after my 21st bday! Feel free to email me or have you son do so, its great to talk with others who understand!!!
