a simple poem for my son
My mother often told me
"you hate someone you hate yourself"
Emotions running wild in my mind
i have these thoughts that are
not so kind
I have these feelings that will
not go away-
There with me here
day after day, after day
Yet, I do not hate her
I try not to waste my time
I have steeper and deeper
hill's to climb
I have miles to go before
I sleep
I now have moved passed that
no time to weep
But still I silently cry,
I silently move on
I know I am weak
I pretend to stay strong
I have my down
moments in time-
I fall down those hill's
still I strive to climb
I climb for you,
my sweet baby boy
You fill my life up
with smiles and joy
I grow with you
as you grow with me...
And togther we stay strong
We hope, we believe
Together we will fight this
Together, you and I
Even if we sometimes fall back
and even when we cry
The promises we made
The hope for tomorrow-
Will pick us up
will dry up our sorrows
Days will be hard
I'm sure my son
But remember tomorrow
is yet but another one
Let's make it a happy day
Let's just forget a while
When you wake up in the morning
I will smile when you smile
Now goodnight my sweet son
I cover you with a kiss and hug
I know you are safe tonite
so surely and snug
I love you, do you know that
well I do
You got the better part of me
I got the better part of you...

- Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: LOBPI. I am 77 yrs old and never had a name for my injuries until 2004 when I found UBPN at age 66.
My injuries are: LOBPI on upper body and Cerebrael Palsy on the lower left extremities. The only intervention I've had is a tendon transplant from my left leg to my left foot to enable flexing t age 24 in 1962. Before that, my foot would freeze without notice on the side when wearing heels AND I always did wear them at work "to fit in" I also stuttered until around age 18-19...just outgrew it...no therapy for it. Also suffered from very very low self esteem; severe Depression and Anxiety attacks started at menopause. I stuffed emotions and over-compensated in every thing I did to "fit in" and be "invisible". My injuries were Never addressed or talked about until age 66. I am a late bloomer!!!!!
I welcome any and all questions about "My Journey".
There is NO SUCH THING AS A DUMB QUESTION.
