It is a GO!!:)

Post by kamren »

I saw Dr Shenaq yesterday for my injury. He says YES!!! Yes, he can help me. He can't make it perfect but he can make it so I don't hurt if I am online to long, not hurt to play piano, not hurt to wash the dishes. I will be able to brush my hair, curl my hair on the left side without contorting myself so my right can do it. I can drive the car without pain.....

I have to get xrays done, and an MRI...but otherwise it is a GO!! Mid April

I have been told my whole life I was lucky I could move my arm at all...that there was nothing they could do. I never ever dreamed that I would have anything close to normal use of my left arm. This will change my life. I am so excited

I am so happy for you. I wish I had an opportunity when I was younger. I was 60 when I found UBPN and also found out this is not a "rare" injury.

You are not alone when you say you were told how "lucky" you were many of us were told the same thing. I was so tired of hearing that!

You must be walking on air... So glad you finally have some answers and help.

What a life change it will be. It really hit me when his booking nurse asked if I had access to a swimming pool, that swimming would be great therapy. I said "I can't swim" and she said "you will". So often in my life ( and I am sure others here) I knew I couldn't do something because of this injury, and now I will be able to do them. That change is kind of scary, but sooooo exciting:)

Hooray!

So glad to hear continuing good news. If I can see changes in surgery at age 47, then just think how much more potential you youngsters have. It is amazing how our bodies can adapt to doing things they have never ever been able to do.

It is a very freeing experience. I don't know how else to describe it.

You go girl! Swimming is the best exercise.

I am so happy for you. It is just amazing to me what this website has done for so many people. It has changed so many people's lives. As far as your Doctors by now you know you are in the best hands. Dr. Nath and Dr. Shenaq are so caring as well as all their team.
