home from surgery
home from surgery
hey everyone, i've just got back from surgery. i wanted to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers. the surgery went well and dr. shenaq thinks that i will get around 80% use of my arm back. it was a different experience being in texas, especially during superbowl week-end. didn't think that i would ever get home. it's also hard to get used to typing one handed because my bp arm is in a brace. just wanted to say hello, will write more later. eletha

Eletha,
Good to hear from you and glad you are home and that the surgery was a success.
You have some hard work and lots of therapy ahead of you, but for now, rest up and heal.
BPI hug,
Nancy

Glad all went well. Make sure that you get a lot of rest. Do you have the big pillow sling on? If so, welcome to the pillow world...
I bet it was crazy in Texas during the SuperBowl. Take care.

- Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: I am ROBPI, global injury, Horner's Syndrome. No surgery but PT started at 2 weeks old under the direction of New York Hospital. I wore a brace 24/7 for the first 11 months of my life. I've never let my injury be used as an excuse not to do something. I've approach all things, in life, as a challenge. I approach anything new wondering if I can do it. I tried so many things I might never have tried, if I were not obpi. Being OBPI has made me strong, creative, more determined and persistent. I believe that being obpi has given me a very strong sense of humor and compassion for others.

If you don't mind me asking, what type of surgery did you have?
