Auto Log in and messages...

Post by Kristie »

Hazell,
I didn't want to mess up your wonderful post with stuff not related so...
Are you making sure to click on the auto-log in box when you first sign in? That is the only thing I can think might be causing the problem... but I am not a techo person either!

From what I understand about the missing messages is that if the person who posts them isn't signed up as a "memeber" or isn't using their name (posting as a guest) then the post isn't put up automatically someone from UPBN screens it first. I do wish there was a way the board to not tell us that there is new messages if they are not going to come up to view right away. It's like showing me mail but not getting to read it for a day!

It sounds like a computer glitch to me!! I can ask my husband why it is doing that but since we can't use your machine it most likey won't help! You can also try contacting Ryan with UBPN's board of directors... he is very computer literate from my understanding!

Something is going on! I just got a note from Judy T saying she can't get on the board at all...

The key is not to log-out then every time you come to the site you are automatically logged on...

I also had a problem because my security was set too high... on this new computer... and because some one hacked into my aol and stole my password... I had to lower it a bit and then I could post...
more things to try haze... hope it works as for the number of posts... I think the counter is off... duh failing math...

Hope something helps and helps poor Judy too

Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: January 1980 Yamaha RD200 vs 16 wheeler truck, result, 1 totally paralysed right arm. I was 21, now 54. I had no surgery, I don't regret this. Decided to totally ignore limitations (easily done aged 21) adapted very quickly to one handed life, got married, had 3 kids, worked- the effect of the injury on my life (once the pain stopped being constant) was minimal and now, aged 54, I very rarely even think of it, unless I bash it or it gets cold, then I wish I'd had it amputated :) Except for a steering knob on my car, I have no adaptations to help with life, mainly because I honestly don't think of myself as disabled and the only thing I can't do is peel potatoes, which is definitely a good thing.

don't think it's the counter, there's been a message waiting to get on the 'suggestions' board since Tuesday, it's still listed there but doesn't show, there was one from last week too and that one never appeared. Now there's one listed on Hazey's post on page 2 but it's not there, plus the 2 from page 1 that never appeared either. Maybe whoever checks the 'guest' messages went on holiday.

Jen the counter seems very off... and sometimes so is the time... wonder where ryan is ... he checks on this I think.... the numbers always seem to be higher then the posts...

Under the welcome with your Name there is a little arrow that says log out... if you do that next time you come to the board you have to sign in or be a guest....
