Taking a poll on height.......
Re: Taking a poll on height.......
5'2" and first child (non BPI) 6lb9oz. 2nd child (ROBPI) 7lb9oz. I always wondered about that, since she's not in the "at risk" weight range, but I guess that's at risk for me. The OB said that extra pound made all the difference...

forgot to say that Lou was a HUGE baby as well and Bryan (adena's dad) was a TINY baby - thus the difference in the infant sizes.

He is another spin on the subject; the midwife commented to me that she hoped the baby didn't have my shoulders! I was a social swimmer with broad shoulders.

My mother was 5'8"
I was 11 lb. 14 oz. rbpi - My mother lost two children due to birth trauma and I was injured the other five were not injured.
I am 5' 3" and had two of my three births SD all three were delivered via high forcups and 2 they used the pit to move things along... that stuff made me crazy.
8 lb 3oz
8 lb. 14 oz.
9 lb. neither were injured
I think if they use proper birth manuvers it does not matter how tall we are the baby is delivered safely.

I'm 5' 3 3/4" weighed 160# pre-pregnancy
1st baby 9# 6oz c/s, labor started naturally 4 days before dd, 12 hr labor failure to progress, no complications
2nd baby 8# 6oz VBAC, labor started naturally, 45 min hard labor, no complications
3rd baby 10# 9oz, induced 10 days before dd, 2.5 hrs hard labor, vacuum extract used, ROBPI & 4th degree tearing that I just had surgery on to repair (18mo post partum - took a long time to get over dr aversion) - no gest diabetes diagnosed (was only checked once)
I have read short maternal stature, overweight, history of large babies, delayed 2nd stage labor, use of forceps/vac extract, and recently use of pitocin are all factors. Seems my doctor ignored them all.
