Re: Pain relief
Ed,
The winters are much worse for me with pain as well! I find that staying bundled up and keeping warm helps alot! In Michigan we have had a bloody cold winter and it has been rough! I try and get to the gym a few days a week as well and soak in the hot tub! That as well as a good work out helps wonders! Hope this helps some!

Ed,
I have hand function, not sure if you do but I LOVE the eliptical machine with the arms that move, keeps the ROM in my shoulder. Also just a great cardio workout is great, gets the HAPPY ENDORFINS going through the body which gets rid of the pain! Feel free to ask more questions! email me peraonally if you like. courtney@ubpn.org

HEAT, thats all I can say. I'm in Nnorthern Illinois 5 miles from Wi. Its ben below 0 here for days:(
I have a heating pad I wrap around my arm @ night and a hot bath does wonders. My pain is in my hand mostly so the lower arm gets the heat. I'm also back in PT and its been helping. Summers are much more comfortable plus I find when I'm busy it hurts less. Winters are terrible and I find myself locked in my house looking out the window........boring!!!
Think spring think spring think spring.............

Re: Pain relief
I have had a BPI since 1968. The best way to control the pain is a heating pad and or acupunture. find a qualified asian doctor. it will take at least 4sessions before you notice any change. if the treatment works you will go to sleep within 10 minutes of the needles being placed at the proper points. The next best thing is a good heating pad. i like to place it on my arm or on the side of my face. these areas usually give me relief by allowing me to sleep or nap. i will do this as often as it is needed my injury is to my left arm and i treat this side of my face, back, shoulder and upper arm. let me know if this helps Bill
