I am wondering if the Father's on this board would be interested in their own private forums to get support encouragement from. I have two forums started, one for bpitherapists and one for mothers. If any fathers are interested in this, please respond.
Thanks,
Kari

Kari, that sounds like a great idea...I like the mothers forum.....hopefully you will get responses from the dads.

Re: POLL: Father's please respond
I think that is a great idea, although it may be a little tough to get enough dads to really make a go of it.
Another thing I am thinking is that as a mother/woman I have greatly appreciated having the opportunity to connect and learn from fathers who do participate on the board. Part of me would hate to separate moms and dads when they can benefit from one another.
Maybe a dad or two on this board could step up to the plate. Would you feel more comfortable and inclined to participate in a father forum or would you rather be in a group with moms and dads together? Maybe they will indeed prefer their own fathers group but if not maybe you could consider encouraging male input into one group along with mothers. I think it could be advantageous.
Thanks for doing all that you are doing Kari!

Frankly, I think women are much better communicators and in my short time here, I've found encouragement and hope from them. I'm okay in the current configuration.

To GUEST, I never at all ever meant for it to take the place of this board. Your right, we do need the blessing of all parents at this board. The Father's board would simply be an added support system where men can "talk shop" with other men who's kids have OBPI.

Re: POLL: Father's please respond
Hmmm...after reading everyone's replies, I think I've confused everyone. My website is where the forum will be. It is not a UBPN thing accept that maybe at some point I will get them to link my website to their links page. I'm not talking about changing anything here at ubpn. I am running to forums on my website already:
http://www.bpitherapy.anderson-clan.org
http://www.calebscompanions.anderson-clan.org
(This one has just started so is VERY slow.)
and if I get any men to respond, I will start one for fathers. I hope this clears things up for everyone.

Kari

Kari,
I understood your post. I never thought it had anything to do with the UBPN message board. Sorry if something I said caused you to be confused. I was strictly referring to your site. I thought you were saying there would be a mother message board and a separate father one. Isn't that what you were saying?
