Has any adult ever had an osteotomy?

Post by rachelcasa »

I was just curious if any adult has ever had an osteotomy done. I guess that is what I have to have done next. I'm just patiently waiting for Dr. Nath to find a doctor who will do them.
Any help would be great!
Thanks

Not me.
I've had four surgeries throughout my life for the bpi, but never an osteotomy. Maybe you will be the first adult since they mostly do them on the kiddo's.

Rachel, looks like we are going to be the first. I know that I read a post on the general mail box the other day that said someone always has to be first in everything. I guess this procedure has Rachel & Deanna's name on it!! *lol*

No kidding! Well, I think that I might do it. First or not. It could be a breakthrough for others! Even though I'm a bit of a chicken. Have you ever seen that game Let's make a deal!! *L* You get the bicep lengthening first and I'll get the osteotomy first!
*shaking your hand* hehehe...Talk to ya soon

my seventeen year old daughter had a bad fall fracturing her right femur and shattering the right knee and cracking the left knee. After surgery in July 03 her right leg has bowed and is shorter than the left knee. The ortho surgeon recommends a osteotomy. We were caught between insurance and she is not covered now except by medical *California. I do not know who to go to and would appreciate any direction.

I just mailed you via e mail. Deanna has found someone and his name is Dr. Joseph Guggenheim in Texas. We are still doing more research on this. Hopefully it will work out for us all!

Hey girls:

I hope this works out for both of you. Just think you are about to be the first obpi/adults to take this step... hmmmmm on second thought its a bit scary but you are both very brave.

Good Luck on this hunt.
