Krista, that was me who posted about having clothing. I posted twice and no one responded that they needed the clothing so I ended up throwing it away! However, it was clothing to fit a 6-7 year old girl. Handmade wool cape to fit the SOL splint, etc. It made me sick to throw it all away, but I was cleaning house and had to do it! Good luck.

perhaps this would be a good section to be added to Maia's site....mini erb's e-bay giveaway! Or could we ask TCH if we could just send them our stuff and they could place them out in a container at clinic for parents to help themselves? Wouldn't cost but a few bucks usually to ship it to them and would be such a help to the families

It's a good idea to get these out if people have them, but not everyone goes to TCH. There are many of us who see other doctors who also need the clothes! =)
Just a friendly reminder.

sorry, no offense meant, I wouldn't have a clue where else to send them however unless it's posted. TCh was just used as an example as that is where our experience lies, thanks for the reminder

No offense taken at all! Just wanted to say that you had a great idea, but I wouldn't be able to get my hands on the clothes at TCH. Maybe we can make another board for this subject and other items that people no longer use that would help someone else. Oh well, thanks for your idea! =)

How about we form a 'formal' clothes swap? I'll volunteer to handle things... We have lots of extra closet space.

Here's what I'm thinking...

If you have any clothes that you would like to donate, just send them to me (you can email me directly at chohertz@udallas.edu and I'll give you my address). I'll sort them by ROBPI or LOBPI and by size. When your child needs clothes for after surgery, send me an email and I'll send some your way (assuming we have some in the clothes stash). When you're finished with the clothes, just send them back to me and I'll distribute them to the next person who needs them.

Let me know what you think and maybe we can get moving on this idea.

WHat a great idea!!
And also, adding this information about the swap and your address to all the BPI websites would be important since this post will get "buried" eventually.

Thank you for offering to do this. We will hopefully have some to send you in January!
