What did your Dr. tell you?

Post by admin »

Is it possible to get your hand/arm back if you had root avulsion? What did your Dr. tell you about your root avulsions? I believe that if the muscles are not working by the time the nerves reach my fingers or arm there are muscle transfer surgeries to help get some movement back. I think this way if not Doctors wouldn't be doing surgeries on avulsed nerves. Maybe I am wrong and just wishing for this. Please let me know what you about avulsed nerves with the surgeries done nowadays.

There basically no hope for avulsions. I am not sure what you've been told, but as I understand it, They leave it alone unless they explore just to make sure that is what it is.

Some of the working nerves that are in other parts of the arm sprout out and go speraticly to the non working parts, causing little or some parts to function some. The nerves could be working in your lower arm and sprouting upwards looking for a path. It happened to my son, there was a blockage the size of a golf ball. So they removed it and spliced the nerves together after that. Are you sure its an avulsion? Get anotheer opinion.
