going to TCH for the 1st time, need some help

Post by dunnfamily »

hello everyone! we are taking tyler to TCH on November 10th. I don't know who it is we will be seeing but after reading about all the insurance problems, maybe it will be Dr. Shenaq? Any suggestions? Anyway we are excited to get a second opinion for tyler. We need some help if anyone knows a low-price hotel in a close location to the dr.'s office, can you let us know? Also Francine, if you could tell me that web address again for the free airfare, I would really appreciate it. We live in Florida and it will be a looong drive with a 15 month old! If anyone is in the area around November 10th, we would love to meet other parents who are going through the same thing. Thanks again everyone.

Francine's website is a HUGE help. Also, go under Texas Children's Hospital website. The hotels around the hospital all run around the same price I think $79-up. Lisa Davis told me they remodeled the Holiday Inn which is right there. We've stayed at Best Western. I think a year ago it was around $80 a night. If you need help w/ the American Airlines tickets give me a holler. You should be able to get a lot of info from Francine's website. www.injurednewborn.com

Check out Francine's website. It has all the travel info you will need and hotel information. We have stayed at the Crowne Plaza two times and the latest being in May it was $89 a night (but if you booked online, it was cheaper).

Hey Amber, we will be at TCH the 10th also. Aaron 2 yrs old LOBPI will be having an evaluation on the 10th and the caps surgery on the 12th. We will probably be staying with family there in Houston so will not be needing a room but IF we do get one it will be for the 9th only. What surgery is your son facing?

Hey Paula,
We are just going to TCH for an evaluation and second opinion for Tyler. I don't know if they will tell us he needs more surgery or not. He's already had the primary surgery. Anyway we will be there for sure on the 10th and probably the 9th too. I'd love to meet you guys and talk about your experiences up till now. Tyler is only 15months. Let me know your email and I can give you our cell phone number to call while we're there. Maybe we can meet up at the dr.'s office or somewhere? Thanks,
