Pain clinic
O.k. I am going to try a pain clinic to see if they can help me. Have any of you ever been to one and if so what were the results? My appointment is for the 15th.

Judy
I am sorry to hear you are still in pain.
Do you think the canoe did you in? I hope not....
I tried pain management Neuro... and the medicine and I just don't mix... so I did intensive massage therapy, myofacia, active release, and warm water at a local pool... again with some relief but not what I wanted...
This summer we bought a hot tub...
I was tired of fighting with insurance ... since I am cured of "Erb's Palsy" and tired of all the nonsense... but I must say... 4 years of constant therapy has brought my arm back to "my original range of motion" and I keep it that way with the hot tub.
I go in and do rom and stretch... it also helps with the back and neck aches due to compensation. The minute I feel a twinge I am in the tub... bending and stretching
Try going to one of your local hotels... many of the business hotels pools and hot tubs that are not used most of the time. I joined that first to do aqua therapy and that was how I discovered that the warm/hot water really helped with pain issues. I would have continued but its really cold here in the winter and from the hot tub to the freezing car in snow was not good... now it's on my back deck...
It is a great tool to warding off the tight pain in neck and arms and in water my arms move easier.

Judy,
I'm so sorry to hear about your pain and anxious to hear what they recommended at the pain clinic.
I can reinforce all that Kath said esp since she is literally standing over my shoulder as I type this. Ha ha. I am visiting Ralph and Kathleen and we went in her hot tub twice yesterday. I think what is so good about warm water is that it loosens up all our stiff joints and then we can get in a really good stretch and that stretching is so helpful.
I hope you are feeling better today.

HI Judy,
So sorry to hear about your pain, sure hope you are feeling better today. I know I can't feel what you are feeling, but I sure did see Ryan when he was in pain. Pain is pain and it hurts.
Let us know how things go on the 15th.
Hugs,

Judy - I'm sorry to hear about your pain. Does warm water help you at all? Has anyone with bpi ever tried hypnotherapy or biofeedback I wonder?
big hugs - hope you feel better,

Re: Pain clinic
Francine, When I was teenager I did biofeedback and I also had one session of hypno therapy and it did not help. I want to see what else is out there. So.... Kath didn't invite me to the party? Judy
Re: Pain clinic
Hey Judy
You never need an invitation! New York is getting colder it was 50 degrees Nancy and I were freezing in our bathing suits - until we hit 102 water.... then stretched those tight arms... LOL... It was so much better than a cold Lake George... ops! we were not the ones to fall in.
So when are you droping by?
I hope the pain manager can do something. The gloves you were using are not working I guess, did they help at all?
