NEW INJURY
HI. THIS IS A NEW INJURY AND I WANTED TO KNOW IF ANYONE EXPERIENCED ITCHINESS ON THE PALM AND FINGERS? I HAVE A LOT OF QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS TO FIND OUT ABOUT THIS. I AM SO DEPRESSED AND SCARED. KAREN

- Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: MVA in 2001, nerve graph in 2002, Median Nerve Transfer in 2004 and an unsuccessful Gracillis Muscle Transfer in 2006. I am living life and loving it! Feel free to contact me :)

You may get all sorts of weird sensations for a while. The nerves are firing but not making a proper connection, so its like getting a break in an electrical wire. There'd be no electicity travelling to its destination, just sparking and a build up of heat.
In the human body that manifests itself as pain, uncontrolled sweating, itching, and hypersensitivity. These things should recede to varying degrees as time goes on, though its vastly different for different people, and depends a lot on your particular extent of injury.
Each person has different symptoms. I had the itchy palms, and if I tried to scratch them it either made no difference, or it triggered pain. However, handling and manipulating your hand and fingers will help circulation, and reduce hypersensitivity.
