follow-up surgery

Post by Jazzie »

My daughter is scheduled for her first surgery in Boston on 9/25; she's 9. We're from the Norhtern NJ area. Does anyone know of any therapists who actully know what they're doing regarding this type of injury??? I've always felt that wherever I've taken her they just seem to wing-it. She needs some serious post-op attention now! I have Oxford Insurance (which could be a prblem in itself), but of course would do whatever needed to be done.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

hi Jazzie...

post a message on the General Board with a title

ANYONE HERE FROM NEW JERSEY?

and ask your question inside and people will hopefully respond that might be able to help you...

Also - we took Maia to Voorhees Pediatric Rehabilitation and they were pretty good - are you near that by any chance? I think you might have a better chance with the insurance if you go to a hospital versus a private therapy group... but I could be wrong, too.

good luck,
francine

Jazzie

I use a PT in Fairlawn NJ but he is no longer taking Oxford and he treats adults... but is the best I have ever use. So I will continue to use him without my insurance coverage when necessary.

I don't know of any for pediatric in the norther NJ area... But I will ask around to see if anyone in my area uses one. I live right on the NJ/NY line.

Thank you for your response. Yes, I've heard of DeSouza
in the past but when I inquired through my Ins. Co. I found out he no longer accepts my insurance. I have to check again because I think he works in conjunction with Morristown Memorial Hosp. which my accepts my ins. (could be St Barnabas??) but I will check. Thanks. I've heard very good things about him.
